About This Project

Since its inception in 2011, the Women of Washington Redskins (WOW) has evolved into the largest women’s program in the NFL with over 135,000 members. Along with free year-round programming and events like behind-the-scene opportunities with the team and football clinics, WOW also offers a unique avenue for leadership development and fitness classes, embodying their mission to provide a complete platform to empower female fans’ mind, body and spirit.

Flavor Uma founder Kim Young was one of the first nutrition-based culinary bloggers for WOW. She created custom recipes promoting the WOW football culture with a healthy kick. These recipes were shared with the WOW network.

Flavor Uma’s signature Healthy Little Cooks program also supported the Washington Redskin’s Kids Club Combine Event where we worked to promote to kids and parents healthier food choices and the link between nutrition and sports success.
